This handmade ornament has a beautiful Barred Owl wood burned onto a birch wood slice through a process known as pyrography.
After sanding the slice super-smooth, I wood burned the owl image onto it. The wood was finished with wax and lacquer producing a smooth surface with a subtle shine that seals and protects the wood.
Such a beautiful bird!
I live in North Florida and am inspired by the wildlife in my area. This image for this ornament was recreated from a photograph of a local owl.
3/8 inch thick
Diameter of the wood slice is approx. 3 inches.
A twine cord will be included as seen in the picture.
