I wood burned the image into natural edged basswood. The dark frame was achieved by torching the edges of the wood. The entire piece was given a coat of bees wax to seal and protect the wood and image while maintaining a natural patina.
The work is 10 1/4 inches (26cm) wide, approx 6 1/4 inches (15.9cm) tall and almost 3/4 inch (.6cm) thick. A sturdy piece of twine was stapled onto the back as a hanger making the piece ready to hang on the wall. However, it fits nicely in a desk display stand too (not included).
