This original wood burn art piece was created through pyrography from a photo taken of a Barred Owl sitting in an oak tree in my yard. The work was done on natural edged basswood.

This pyrography or wood burned Barred Owl is an original work by Hendywood. A family of Barred Owls nest in an oak tree in my yard every spring, so I take photos of the birds as much as possible. I used one of the photographs to create this piece.

I wood burned the image of the owl into natural edged basswood. The dark frame was achieved by torching the edges of the wood. The entire piece was given a few coats of lacquer to seal and protect the wood and image while maintaining a natural patina.
The work is 9 inches (22.8cm) wide, approx 7 3/4 inches (19.7cm) tall and almost 3/4 inch (.6cm) thick. A saw-tooth hanger has been installed making the piece ready to hang on the wall. However, it fits nicely in a desk display stand too (not included).
Shipping is included and will be USPS Priority Medium Flat Rate.
