This handmade beautiful rustic wood Candy Cane Christmas Tree ornament was created from a slice of reclaimed hickory wood taken from a fallen branch in my yard. A red glass crystal bead adds a nice accent.

This beautiful rustic handmade wood Candy Cane Christmas Tree ornament was created from a slice of reclaimed hickory wood taken from a fallen branch in my yard. Sustainable holiday tree decor.
After cutting a slice from a hickory branch, I sanded it super-smooth and drilled a hole. The wood grain is interesting and the surface is very smooth and soft to the touch. I wood burned a Candy Cane with a bow onto the wood. A coat of Beeswax sealed the wood and enhanced the colors. A red Swarovski crystal bead, flanked by two small metal beads were wired to the ornament. A piece of bright red ribbon serves as a hanger.
A unique touch with a rustic flare.
The diameter of this lightweight wood ornament is 1 5/8 inches (41mm). The total length of the ribbon hanger and wood ornament is 5 1/4 inches (13.3cm).
