This silverware necklace was made from a vintage fork I found while browsing antique stores in Astoria, Oregon. This necklace was created from a beautiful vintage, Roxbury pattern fork by Simeon L. and George H. Rogers, introduced in 1923. It has a wonderful art motif design. I cut the end of the handle from the fork, rounded and softened it, and drilled a hole.
After polishing the piece I added a patina to slightly darken the metal and enhance the design. A coat of lacquer sealed and protected the metal giving it a warm shine.
This silver-plated pendant hangs from a sturdy antique silver ring suspended from rhodium plated silver cable chain secured with a lobster clasp. The pendant hangs 2 1/4 inches (57mm) from an 18 inch (45.7cm) rhodium plate silver cable chain secured by a lobster clasp.
The pictures show both sides of the piece of this simple, yet elegant piece.
